Description | A bird's-eye view of a woman standing in the semicircular home base of a traditional chalk-drawn hop-scotch court, as if about to take her turn. However, instead of looking at the court in front of her she's looking directly up (towards the viewer) with a rather sad, yet enquiring, look upon her face. The marker, usually a stone tossed before each player takes their turn, sits in the square numbered two. The surface on which the court is drawn is completely flat and nondescript giving the scene as a whole a rather dream-like quality. |
